Toroidal coils as in ignition coils perform the same function as standard coils. The difference is that the magnetic fields are better focused and generally do not leak as much energy into the surrounding environment. Is there a difference in car performance? Very hard to say as generally stock ignitions these days (post 1990s) are excellent and do their job remarkably well.
No. The coil provides the spark and the module tells the coil when to spark.
Bad coil wire, bad coil, etc...
Replace the ECU.
To install an ignition coil on a 1986 Chevy Celebrity: 1. With the ignition off unplug the wire harness from the coil, also remove the coil to distributor wire. 2. Remove the bolts that hold the coil mounting bracket to the intake manifold. 3, The coil should now come off. 4. The new coil comes without the mounting bracket. Therefore you must cut the rivets loose that hold the old coil to the bracket. The new coil should come with screws and nuts to mount it to the old bracket. Mount the coil to the bracket. 5. Position the coil mount onto the intake manifold and bolt it down. 6. Plug the cables and distributor lead back into place.
Suspect a bad coil or failed engine computer.
A magnetic field for a toroid is typically concentrated within the coil, circling around the winding. Inside the toroid, the magnetic field lines are close together and form closed loops. Outside the toroid, the magnetic field is very weak and essentially negligible.
A toroid coil in an electronic ballast is used for energy storage and to help regulate the flow of current in the circuit. It also helps to reduce electromagnetic interference and noise. Overall, the toroid coil plays a crucial role in the functioning and efficiency of the electronic ballast.
according to the ampere's law . magnetic field is strongest in a loop or a plane. and about toroid the magnetic is strongest in the coil where the wire is rotated around it . Magnetic field is minimum inside and outside the toroid.
The magnetic field inside a toroid is approximately zero due to the cancellation of the magnetic field produced by each winding of the coil. The field lines generated by current flowing in one direction on one side of the toroid cancel out with the field lines generated by current flowing in the opposite direction on the other side, resulting in a net field of close to zero inside the core.

A toroid is a doughnut shaped, three dimensional shape like an O ring. Any three dimensional shape can be rotated completely around an axis to create a toroid shape leading to toroids with both curved and flat faces.
toroid
A sphere, an ellipsoid, a toroid and many more.
Wheel is a "Toroid" shape which is like a donut.
Yes. A sphere, an ellipsoid, a toroid.
A sphere, an ellipsoid, a toroid are some examples.
These devices are not transformers, but toroid hall effect sensors. That is how they can sense DC.
