Sputtering is almost like a person spitting. The car runs but it doesn't have full power, could actually sound like someone spitting. Missing is when there is a consistent and constant slight jerking or vibration. Unless it is really bad it is hard to feel.
A cylinder misfiring can cause this sympton, check/replace spark plugs and plug wires. Also, sputtering and shaking can be caused by engine timing, have the timing checked. Another cause can be fouled fuel injectors on fuel injected vehicles.

I think, You used Primer, but you Primed the car. The difference is describing something and describing an action. The car has been primed. Or, The car has been sprayed with primer. English is a real pain sometimes.
