No internet, no mobile phones and land-based telephones were not much used for private communication (except in emergency). Very little television. So radio, newspapers and cinemas provided a lot of the Mass Communication. People met each other face to face or sent letters by post.

Communication in the 1960's was far more simple than in the modern day. Most people would write letters, call on the telephone, or talk in person.

dial telephones and letter writing, later there was teletype,of corse homing pigeons with little messages tied to their feet.
