Check engine light will appear, engine may run poorly and fuel mileage will drop.
Pistons are a major part of the engine and if one goes bad there ain't no fixing a piston, replacement is necessary.

It may be possessed by a demon! OR... Does it have a remote car starter installed? It may be faulty. The ignition switch may be bad. The key goes into the ignition lock. There is usually a rod that goes down to the electrical switch on the steering column. check the electrical switch.

We did have a problem with the engine. Cracked block from the car over-heating. That basically killed the car...
