if you haven't changed the timing belt recently, you might as well change the timing belt, water pump, and both idler pulley and timing belt tensioner. This way you can set the timing with the proper tools, that's probably what you'll have to do anyhow since the belt moved, hopefully it didn't damage any valves when you tried to start it and the belt was off timing.
Texas.Yes i am a Texan!!!!!! Germany! Since WHEN is an Audi assembled in the USA?
2002 Audi quattro 1.8 ignition module location
This MAY be caused by the fact the cam shaft was binding from no oil and put added stress on the timing belt causing it to break. The camshaft will be first to starve from a LOW OIL or NO OIL state. Hope this was helpful.
disconnect the battery for 3 hours..also, Everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and the library should have a professional shop manual available in the reference section(make copies of the right sections) read up and fix it like a PRO! :) good luck
Yes.
It must be changed every 90,000 miles. Warning: This is an interference engine and as such if the belt breaks serious engine damage will occur.Update: Audi now recommends every 75,000 miles.
...timing of audi tdi
For the 2003 1.8T Audi TT you should consider oil changes every 5,000 miles with full synthetic oil as turbo charged engines run hotter when enjoyed. Also, always change the oil filter when you change the oil.
Timing belt that needs to be changed every 80-90k miles along with the water pump.
You Don't - It just breaks and blows the engine
Can be from 96,000 to 170,000 kilometers depending on the year which you did not list.
150,000 km (by the book it's actually 155K, but you don't want to wait too long - if it breaks you're hooped).
Depends on the year, and model which you failed to list.
I have a 94 Audi 100s and the thermostat is located behind the timing belt so you should think about changing the timing belt, water pump, and thermostat. I know this is a horrible desighn but what can we do.
Depending on your specific year, make & model, it may vary. A 2000 Audi Quattro A4 with a 1.8 should replace timing belt and timing belt tensioner at 100,000 miles. It should be checked earlier if your vehicle is subject to severe treatment.
Yes Audi A4 timing belt replacement 1.8T 3.0L V6 timing belt yes. 3.2L v6 no timing belt it has timing chains on back of engine.
