When you turn the key on your 1992 Chrysler fifth avenue it wont do anything If you jump the wires on the starter it turns right over.?

im having the same problem with my 1983 fifth avenue. i figured out so far that i think its the ignition switch or the lock cylinder does the lights come on on the dash when you turn the key over
