Your car needs a bypass. All GMs from the mid-nineties up have what they call a passlock system. The only way to get around that is a bypass, if your getting a directed electronics bypass, then its most likely going to be the XK01. On older cars in the early nineties, all they need is a certan resistance, but if your key doesnt have a little black piece below the key head, you WILL need a bypass. Well if this car is a newer Sunfire then it may have a chip in the key which requires a certain resistance on the immobilizer wire. If this resistance is not seen by the car then the car shuts down the fuel pump. If this is not a year with a chip in the key then it may be the fact that the remote starter is not seeing tach anymore or that one of the ignition wires that was wired up is not connected as well anymore
The remote just connects the starter selenoid with the battery, when it completes the circuit, the engine starts and will run until it runs out of gas or the engine is disabled.
If the remote car starter stopped working after a new battery was installed in the remote, the remote needs to be reprogrammed. If the remote starter stopped working after a new battery was installed in the vehicle, the computer might need to be reset by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.

A remote car starter is a valuable aftermarket accessory for your car. The some benefits of having a remote car starter are theft prevention, safety and its convenience to use.
AnswerTry on the remote, UNLOCK + LOCK + LOCK. That should do it. After the car starts, just UNLOCK + UNLOCK to unlock all doors. Once you get in (without pressing pedals), just put key in and TURN to ON. Do not turn to START or you will attempt to start an already running engine. Not all Scion tC's come with this feature though. You may need to have andafter-market one installed.orThe remote engine starter is operated by pushing the `lock` button on the keyless entry fob in a quick, three-step sequence: (1) push and release `lock` button; (2) push and release `lock` button again; (3) then push and hold `lock` button for three seconds-and the engine starts. The engine can also be stopped remotely by pushing the `unlock` button once, or by pushing and holding the lock button for two seconds or more.

Your remote car has a swich in the inside take it apart and push the button over
if you push the button and it starts then it is installed
What do you mean by remote starter? if you mean turning the engine on remotely it will be located on your key fob
I'm somewhat confused by your use of the term "starter button". I assume you're referring to hooking up a remote starter allowing you to spin the engine while you're working under the hood. First make sure that the vehicle is in either park or neutral. Second, make sure that the ignition switch is in the "off" position. Locate the starter solenoid which is atop the starter assembly. Disconnect the trigger wire at it's spade terminal. The wire will most likely be yellow in color. Connect one end of your remote starter button at this terminal on the starter and the other end to the positive battery post.
Well on my 2004 softail Pushing the remote button 1 time set the alarm and pushing the twice deactivates the alarm
No, remote start was not a factory option in 2000.
Check the battery in the remote.
