hello, did anything eise stop working like dome lights, pass, side pwr seat or prw antenna ? if so check ground(black) wires.i found a coroded splice connector on rt.side kick panel area under carpet. as soon as i touch connector it started working. i cut all black wires , stripped ,sodiered and taped up. also clean up and eye termnal and bolt .
First, check the fuse. Also, check the relays ,and possibly the switches on the doors .
If it won't unlock with the key, this means that the rod from the key tumbler to the door latch has become disconnected or is broken. If you can get the door open, you will need to remove the inside door panel and look in through the holes to see what the problem is.
U need 2 spray the inside of the power door lock switch with electrical contact cleaner or repair the loose connection on the back of the switch
are they the factory locks?? if so it could bea vaccum line it operates on vaccum lines. or it could be the ground.
AnswerIf the key will rotate in the door locks, but not in the ignition switch then the key is not going in all the way due to debris in there, the steering wheel lock is binding the ignition lock (fix by rocking wheel back and forth while turning key) or mechanical failure of lock internals.
If you are having problems with interior door locks on a Ford around that year it is most likely the door lock actuators. There is one on each door. They are very prone to fail on those vehicles. On several occasions I have had to replace every single door actuator on Fords of that age. The actuator is behind the door panel, and fairly easy to access once the panel is off. I don't believe door lock actuators are very expensive for that vehicle, but you may want to have a repair shop verify that is the problem.
I have a 2001 Nissan quest, recently my door locks are malfunction, when I pull the door in it locks, when key in ignition it locks, what cause this problem?
My door locks stopped working and I pulled the IOD fuse and reset it back after starting the vehicle. Now all locks work great to include the remote process. The IOD is mapped on the lid of the fuse box.
wipers,headlights,speedometer,door locks,air conditioner,electric mirrors, stopped working
If the power door locks quit working on a 1979 Corvette, it is due to broken pigtail switches. With age and use, the pigtails break and leaves the power door locks inoperable.
Blown fuse
There is a Relay for the Power Door Locks, which I purchased today from Checker Auto parts, but I can not find where the relay is located. I am assuming or hoping that it is the Relay for both the Door Locks and Power Windows.
It's not that the key fob stopped working, but, if your car battery is dead, it's the car that has no power to pop the door locks.
check the fuse box, could be that easy sorry... they are all on one fuse
Check the circuit breaker/fuse first. Your owners manual should have the location.
Mine just did the same thing...did you find out what the problem was?
doors locks & trunk lock not working
Check the fuse and relay.
