Always go back to the basics, spark, fuel and compression. If you have all three, it will run. After putting in a cam position sensor you might want to verify that it's all set up properly and everything is connected. Often it's just something little that was missed, such as putting something in backward or not having the proper clearance set-up. What does the computer diagnostic code say? That will give you more information than can be provided like this.
AnswerIt reads the position and/or speed of an engine as it is rotating. When crankshaft is turning, the sensor will provide a signal to the PCM. The PCM will then allow the engine to start by providing spark and fuel.
bad crank shaft position sensor
the cam position sensor and ignition coil are inside the distributor. the crank position sensor is located on the bottom front of the engine, behind the belts on the left side.
Check the MAP sensor.
96' z28 won't start because lack of spark. Could it be crankshaft position sensor? I just replaced distributor.
Its either your cam shaft position sensor or the crank sensor.
Check the 2001 Grand Ams crank shaft position sensor first. If the sensor is bad then the engine will not get fire or start.
crank or cam shaft position sensor is sometime the issue.it will not fuel if it cannot find the position of the cam or crank

car will not start if the crank shaft positing sensor is bad ..because it control the car spark plug firing..( no fire no start )
Yes. On some vehicles, the Crank Shaft Position sensor tells the computer that you are trying to start the vehicle. Without that signal, the ECM will not control the spark coil.
hi i have a 2004 mitsubishi l200 ediesel that wont start, turns over but not firing, been told its the crank shaft position sensor
it could possibly be a bad coil, crank shaft sensor, or cam shaft sensor.
bad crank shaft position sensor
No start, dies after driving a bit, won't start when hot after shut off are some of the symptoms. If you have a tach in the vehicle see if you have a consistant rpm reading also.
I had the same problem and found out it was the crank shaft sensor!
Yes it can cause a no start condition.
