The cam chain on xr250's are adjusted automaticly by a mechanism inside the engine, so there is no way to manually tighten it. If your engine is making a rattling sound, then your cam chain may need replacing as they do wear out over time which makes them longer

How do you adjust the timing chain tension on a 1998 Saturn SL2?

you can't : On the '97 Twin cam engine the cam chain tensioner depends on oil pressure. I had a problem that with 200,000 miles the chain had stretched farther than the tensioner could handle and had to replace the cam chain.

How do you adjust timing chain on a Honda xr600?

You cannot adjust the tensioner. It is automatic, and takes out the slack of a stretching/aging cam chain. Once the tensioner has fully extended, the only fix is to replace the chain and the part of the tensioner the chain rides on if it is worn.

How do you adjust cam chain on Yamaha yfm225?

You don't. The YFM225 uses an automatic chain tensioner that helps to take up the slack on the cam chain. If you are getting chain slap, then either the chain is stretched or the tensioner is not functioning correctly. In both cases, the parts should be replaced. You cannot repair a non-functioning auto tensioner, nor can you remove links from a stretched cam chain.

How do you adjust xl350 cam chain?

To adjust the cam chain on an XL350, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Remove the timing cover and check the cam chain tensioner; if it's too loose, adjust the tensioner according to the manufacturer's specifications, typically by turning the adjustment screw or bolt. After adjustment, rotate the engine by hand to ensure there is no binding, then reassemble the timing cover and reconnect the battery. Always refer to the service manual for specific torque settings and procedures.

To adjust the cam chain on a Yamaha Virago 535, first, remove the left side cover to access the cam chain tensioner. Loosen the tensioner locknut and turn the tensioner screw clockwise to increase tension, then retighten the locknut. Ensure the engine is at the correct timing mark, and check the tension by pulling on the chain; it should have minimal slack. Reassemble the side cover and ensure all bolts are secured.
