I have a 1990 Acura integra with retratable seat belts. My seat belt on driverside will not retract to secure position. Seat belt stays in forward position. I replaced door latch thinking this might have solved my problem, it didn't. I then checked the seat belt motor located in back quarter. I did this by disconnecting power in wire coupler. I then connected power to the wire coupler connection to the seat belt motor. The seat belt moved back to secure position. I then reversed the wires to the wire coupler connection and seat belt moved forward. By using the separate power source the seat belt moved forward and back, operating as it should. I figure the seat belt motor doesn't need to be replaced as it works fine with separte power source applied. I am wondering if there is a faulty relay switch that might be causing my seat belt from working properly. If there is a relay switch where would it be located? Is there anyone that can give me information regarding my seat belt proble? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Replace the seat belt.
Cut it to get it out of your way.... haha... Usually once those things go out their out unless you wanna pay for a new motor to pull it back.
replace the seat belt
Plug The Seat belt in.
To fix a twisted car seat belt, first unbuckle the belt and let it fully retract into the belt mechanism. Then, slowly pull the belt out and check for any twists. If there are twists, carefully untwist the belt until it is straight. Finally, buckle the seat belt back in and ensure it is properly aligned and not twisted.

To fix a Toyota Sienna driver's side seat belt that is stuck, you might need to pull the entire belt out slowly until it is completely extended. Then, allow the belt to retract slowly.
To fix a stuck seat belt on a 2000 Dodge Durango, pull on it to release its auto lock function. Pry off the plastic cover that hold the seat belt mechanism with the use of a screwdriver, loosen the stuck belt, and put back in place. ?æ
the receiver for the belt has a sensor. if it fails the light will continue to flash even though the belt is buckled. replace it!
ANY frayed seat belt MUST be replaced. Fraying, cuts, or any other damage can and DOES make a seat belt fail. Think about this for a moment. $30 or so, OR your life..
