First take the knot and put it in the palm of your left hand. With your right index finger, lightly press on the knot and rotate it counterclockwise. That should loosen the knot, and you may be able to get the knot out.
If not, get a two good needles with a fine point or the tip of a hair pin. (If it has plastic at the end like some bobby pins do it won't work.) Now put a dap of oil on the chain. (Baby, Olive, or Vegetable oil if possible.) If oil is unavailable, warm water will work as well. Put the two pins in the middle of the knot and slowly and carefully spread apart the knot. Do this on a good, sturdy, hard surface like a table or counter. If oil is used, put soap and water in a cup, mix it together, and dip the chain in there.
