I just replaced the trunk struts on my 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have no mechanical experience and i replaced them myself, so its a pretty easy fix. On the top of your trunk there will be a piece held in my two bolts. Just remove these bolts and the piece should come right off. on the side of your trunk should be the other piece. There will be a little spring attached to your ball joint that is easily removed with a flat head screw driver. Once this spring is removed you should be able to pull the par away from the ball joint and wallah. Replace just like you took off.

To replace the trunk struts on your Lexus SC300, first, ensure the trunk is supported to prevent it from falling. Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry off the retaining clips on each end of the struts. Once the clips are removed, detach the old struts from the mounting points and replace them with the new struts, ensuring they are securely attached. Finally, reattach the retaining clips to complete the installation.
You will need a torx adapter (I don't remember the size). After that make sure that the trunk is supported by something. Because it's very heavy, and you do not want it to fall on your head. Then replace the struts one at time. Always change the struts in pairs.

To change the trunk struts on a 2008 Dodge Avenger, start by opening the trunk and supporting it with a prop to prevent it from closing unexpectedly. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry off the retaining clips on both ends of the struts, then remove the old struts by pulling them off the ball joints. Attach the new struts by pushing them onto the ball joints and securing them with the retaining clips. Finally, test the trunk to ensure it opens and closes smoothly.

To replace the rear struts on a 2001 Mercury Cougar, first, safely lift the vehicle and remove the rear wheels. Then, disconnect the lower strut bolts and upper strut mounting nuts found in the trunk. After removing the old struts, install the new struts by reversing the disassembly process, ensuring all bolts are torqued to the manufacturer's specifications. Finally, reattach the wheels and lower the vehicle.
