hi, i have a pond here at home and i have 4 orandas plus many carps. they are very delicate fish and they are prone to red spots but if you keep their water clean and they are properly aerated and with good supply of food, you'll do just fine and enjoy their beauty. They, together with other goldfishes like shubunkins, ryukins, etc, are dirty fishes. They dirt so much, more than carps. One of my orange cap is sick and I'm giving them all treatment. Salt plus a medicine over the counter in your average petshop will do. ok, i have to feed my fish and dogs. if you want to chat, here's my email address olstarz_92@Yahoo.com
A common goldfish can be bred with a red cap oranda fish. When these fish breed, there is a definite courtship ritual.
The oranda wen is a fleshy growth on the head of the fish that can vary in size and shape. It is a distinguishing feature of the oranda goldfish breed and can greatly impact the overall appearance of the fish, giving it a unique and distinctive look. The wen can grow over the eyes and face, giving the fish a cute and chubby appearance.
No, oranda fish will not die after laying eggs. In fact, it is a natural part of their reproductive process. It is important to provide a suitable environment for them to lay eggs and care for the eggs and subsequent fry if you wish to raise them.
To breed red cap oranda fish, create a breeding tank with good water quality and plenty of hiding spots. Pair a male and a female, and provide a spawning medium like plants or a spawning mop. Maintain the water temperature around 75-80°F and feed them a varied diet to encourage breeding.
