I was thinking of this a few months ago, but it wasn't until I bought a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I found out that maybe you could. If your carburetor neck size is 5-1/8 inches, maybe you are in luck. My Jeep has a stock MFI, which is a Multi-port Fuel Injection system with a throttle body. The throttle body sits on top of the engine and has a neck size of 5-1/8 inches, just like some 2-barrel and 4-barrel carburetors. I think this cold air intake or fuel injection/filtercharger performance kit will work with a carburetor with a neck size of 5-1/8 inches. K&N engineering sells a kit for my Jeep, but it is made out of some heat resistant plastic or something, it's not cheap ($200+). I would prefer that you buy the ones they are selling on eBay, since they are way cheap and it has an aluminum tube that you can cut to size to make it fit in your car or truck. The only thing that I don't know is if the black housing on my throttle body is part of the fuel injection performance kit or if it came stock with my jeep, check up on that!
Do a search on eBay for...1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee air intake...make sure it is for 5.2L or 5.9L. Try, http://stores.eBay.com/ChromeIntakes-Store
By installing an cold air intake on a mustang
You will not damage your engine if you remove its cold air intake. The cold air intake system is merely added to increase engine efficiency and performance.
It is a carburetor where the engine coolant is routed through the choke system of the carburetor. When the coolant is cold the choke will close. As the engine coolant heats up it opens the choke.
A cold air intake is an aftermarket part used to help open air flow to the engine. The cold air intake sucks up cold air from underneath the car and is attached to your intake manifold. So it is a pipe going from somewhere close to the bottom of the engine compartment leading to your intake manifold.
Cold air intake is better because it's denser.
Almost any cold air intake system you buy will come with complete instructions for that unit.
The Volant Cold Air Intake Kit is used to increase cool airflow for engine performance. Cold air intake kits were specifically made for maximum engine performance and fuel efficiency.
If you mean cold air intake or cold air induction (CAI), the answer is no. A cold air intake system is simply a more free flowing air intake. The intake tubing is less restrictive, and often draws air in away from engine heat, hence the name cold air intake. This could be lower in the engine compartment by the fenderwall usually. A cold air intake will ultimately make the engine run slightly cooler. A cooler engine is less destructive to the various components. So CAI will not shorten the life of your engine when properly researched, installed and used.
no, you only have one intake therefore you can only modify it one way. the short ram intake will most likely be a shorter edition of the cold air intake.
Cold air intake kits are used for bringing relatively cool air into a car's internal - combustion engine. Cold air intake kits are also marketed with claims of increased engine efficiency and performance.
take and remove your stock intake and bolt ur new one up easy
The device that mixes the proper amount of fuel and air depending on the position of the accelerator. The mixture is then sent down the intake manifold to all cylinders. It allso sets the idle speed of the engine and increases the fuel/air mixture during a cold startup.
