To change the Transmission Fluid on a Kia Rio, start by ensuring the vehicle is on a level surface and the engine is warm. Remove the transmission fluid pan drain plug to drain the old fluid into a container, then replace the plug. Next, remove the pan, clean the gasket surface, and replace the filter if applicable. Finally, refill the transmission with the appropriate type and amount of new fluid through the dipstick tube, checking the level as you go.
