the differential can be found off the transmission by the left front tire. you have to jack the car up and put it on a jack stand for safety, or put it on ramps.

there is a plug that takes an Allen wrench (10mm I think) on the back side, and one on the bottom.

remove the one on the side first, and then the one from the bottom over a drain pain, and drain the old oil. the differential takes the same Transmission Fluid as the transmission does, it does not take any kind of gear oil.

the hard part of this is getting the oil back in the differential. I used a funnel and a long piece of clear tubing. you can pass the tubing down the engine compartment and put the hose in the fill plug hole (the first one you removed) and dump the oil in the funnel. I put in about 1/2 a quart to flush it out, then put the plug back in the bottom and filled it up.

Once the level is high enough to run out the fill plug, the differential is full. put the side plug back in and you are good to go.

Check transmission fluid level, if you do not have enough add more fluid (do not mix synthetic and organic). Smell the fluid, if it smells burned or has opaque color: you must change it.

Where do you add transmission fluid on a 1999 Toyota Camry le?

What is the transmission fluid capacity on a 1999 Toyota Camry?

Call the parts department of a local Toyota dealer and ask that question of them. Transmission (drain and refill): 2.6 quarts Differential: 1.7 quarts. If you are going to change transmission fluid do not forget to change fluid in differential. Even the system is much cleaner by itself but it accumulates small pieces of metal with time. Also Toyota does not recommend to use full synthetic fluid in 97-99 Camry model. My experience shows that they have a point. especially it's not recommended for old transmissions.

How do you change the front differential seals on a 1999 Chevy Suburban?

To change the front differential seals on a 1999 Chevy Suburban, first, lift the vehicle and secure it on jack stands. Remove the front differential cover to access the seals, then carefully pry out the old seals using a seal puller or a similar tool. Clean the sealing surfaces thoroughly before installing the new seals, ensuring they are seated properly. Finally, reassemble the differential cover with a new gasket or sealant, refill with differential fluid, and lower the vehicle.

How do you change the differential fluid in a 1999 Suburban 1500?

You have to remove the rear cover on the differential housing. Once the fluid is all drained, replace cover with new gasket (or use silicone sealer) and refill through 3/8" square plug on the side of the unit. One other point to this. Replacing the fluid can be a bit tricky. By the time you get yourself, your tools, and your bottle of fluid under the truck it can be a challenge to the fluid in the differential. To ease the problem, get a small section of hose to connect to the spout of the bottle and then run the other end into the differential and squeeze. It is pretty easy and faster.
