If you search the internet (I prefer Google) for "broken odometer" or some such keyword(s) - you will find your answer(s). But basically, you have two options, find a similar car/odometer at a junkyard, and replace the broken one with one that's working from there.... Or, take it (or send it....) to a speedometer shop which will be able to reconfigure the speedometer. Option 3, I found a high-tech site that details removing the dashboard, removing the speedometer from the dashboard, opening up the speedometer, replacing a broken gear in there (if it's a mechanical speedometer), then basically putting it back together in reverse. Sounded kinda technical, cause you gotta be sooo careful not to move/nudge the numbers the wrong way, or bend the odometer needle when putting it back onto the shaft.
is there afuse for the odometer at Honda accord 1997
Under the speedometer. Push the trip meter reset button and the display will change from outside temperature to the odometer.
When it quits working and the cable isn't broken.
If the speedometer and odometer doesn't work I would suspect the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) is faulty. If the speedometer doesn't work but the odometer does, I would suspect the gauge cluster is at fault.
The speedometer cable hooks up to the engine in a Honda Accord. This is how the vehicle is able to calculate speed.
The speedometer on a 1996 Honda Accord EX is the pulse variety. It is likely that the teeth on the speedometer gear are not meshing properly.
I believe there is no cable to the center and speedometer
The speedometer is a part that commonly fails on the 1994-1997 Accord. Buy a used cluster on eBay for about $80 from a reputable seller, and swap it yourself. The wiring on your car is probably fine, as well as the speed sensor on the transmission.
Loose or failing speedometer cable Speedometer head needs repair
It should be on the back of the transmission, almost directly under the throttle body. If you want to get rid of it, just unplug it, but your speedometer and odometer will stop working.
You have to replace the entire instrument cluster.
It is possible for a speedometer to go on and off on a 1995 Honda Accord because the parts are worn out. A new speedometer mechanism may be necessary. Also, check to see if there are any loose parts. Rain and debris from a roadway can cause damage to the speedometer cable.
