How do you remove 2011 Honda CRV rear seats head rest?

It is actually very easy-the second time! The problem for me was that I couldn't believe that I could remove it with such a small amount of movement of the main part. Here you go:

As a reference, the center rear head rest has a push-in button at the base of the chrome stalk. You just push it in and remove the head rest. The outer head rests have a similar looking tab, but it doesn't push in. You need two small flat blade screw drivers and a second set of hands, with the blades covered with a single layer of tape to protect the plastic.

The outside edge of this tab has a small notch which will accept the first screw driver. All you're doing is slightly raising this edge of this tab the thickness of the blade, maybe a little more depending on your screw driver's thickness. Then, insert the second screw driver(sd from now on) into the gap you barely created between the flat face of this tab and the solid footer that has the hole for the head rest shaft. Now, remove the first sd from underneath the tab and position it on the opposite side from the second sd. Pry the tab outward away from the head rest about an eighth of an inch or so. You will hear an audible click when you're there. Maintain this position and pull up on the head rest, and it will easily lift out.

I know this sounds unbelievable, but here in a nutshell is what you are doing. This small tab needs to be released by prying slightly upward, then from both sides, sliding it away from the head rest. It is akin to adding the center leaf to your dinner table, except before you slide your section of table to the outside, you have to lift it up and then slide it back. I hope this analogy doesn't complicate things, I just wanted to try and give you a picture of what was happening.

I found a page from a Honda manual on the internet, but it was of poor quality. I really hope this helps someone as I didn't want to risk my grandson's life by installing a safe car seat into an unsafe main seat due to the interference of the Honda head rest.
