I own several of these and we run a shop where we part the 85-89 mr2s out on eBay and other forums. You will have to remove the door panel which will require you to remove the Phillips screw at the inner door handle and also the plastic triangle at the mirror area. You will then use your hands and perhaps a screwdriver to pop the outer edge of the panel off, oh yea there are 2 more screws that are covered with little round plastic covers on the base of the door handle/arm rest, take the door panel off and unscrew the screws that attach the power controls and plug in the replacement part. You will have to replace the whole unit ,both window switches and the door lock switch. reverse process to rap it up. Email me for parts at markwbullins@yahoo.com .

Its easy open the rear trunk remove the panel towards the engine bay it should be on the passenger side on 85/6 for 87+ it could be in the same location.
