I speak from experience. Save yourself considerable time and drill the plastic clip out with a small drill starting with a size only slightly larger than the center hole. Once you remove a couple of these you may be able to remove others by flexing the wheel liner and pinching the plastic barbs of the remaining clips with a needle nose pliers to allow them to be removed. Buy quality replacements from the Toyota dealer and be sure they give you the correct ones having the the square cross-section.
if its to remove the bat. cover twist than pry out with two flat heads
first off it is easier to do if you remove the air filter. you then need to remove the passengers side wheel and the plastic trim. the battery has to come out through the wheel well.
You have to go thru the fender well under the plastic. Best thing to do is remove the tire, loosen the Philips head plastic hold downs and pull them out. Pull down the plastic and you will see a gray cap. Turn it counter clockwise and remove. Unhook the metal clip and loosen the screw holding it down, do not need to remove screw, remove clip and you can remove bulb. I wore latex gloves when handling replacement bulb.
You have to take the battery out and remove bolts at the top of the reservoir. Then you have to remove the plastic pins inside the front left wheel well to allow you access to the bottom of the reservoir. There are bolts on the bottom to remove as well. You have to remove the hoses from the washer pumps and the reservoir should slide out thru the wheel well.
Remove the left front wheel and remove the securing nuts to the wheel arch(plastic wheel well liner) pull back from the rear and you will see the fuel filter under it.
You need to remove passenger tire and take out the plastic door in frt of wheel well. You then will have access to battery and connections
Sorry for not being specific, but it's mostly short Phillips screws and plastic push pins that hold it on. I found from personal experience that the plastic push pins break and bend easily. Trashing these plastic pieces can cause problems like the plastic wheel well cover coming off while driving.
I was able to remove the existing power antenna on my '92 Cherokee through the wheel well. You have to remove three of the nuts attaching the plastic to the fender as well as pull out two plastic plugs. Pull back the plastic and you will see the power antenna right there. Good luck, Woody
The horns are located in the front wheel well housings above the plastic wheel well liner, toward the front of the car. To access this area remove the re uasble plastic rivets. One horn on the driver side & one on the passenger side.
You have to remove the splash guard inside the wheel well to access the lamp 1. Turn the wheel to the outside to access the two screws towards the front of the wheel well. 2. You then need to remove two plastic plugs connecting the wheel well splash guard to a "body side" splash guard. Note that there are two screws that connect the splash guard to the bumper. These screws are accessible from the bottom of the bumper. You may want to jack up the vehicle to gain access to these screws. 3. Now note that I didn't remove the entire wheel well splash guard. By removing the screws at the front I was able to push the guard aside to access the bulb. 4. It was difficult to remove the wire harness cable from the bulb. The plastic clip that secures it in place is much like the one on the headlamp and it is located (at least mine was) towards the bottom of the vehicle. You have to release this plastic clip to disconnect the wire harness. 5. Disconnect the harness 6. Then I had to use a needle nose pliers to rotate the lamp counterclockwise to remove it from the socket. 7. Using the needle nose pliers I then inserted the new lamp, turning clockwise to secure it in place 8. Connect the wire harness 9. Re-connect the splash guard Good luck.
Look in the Owners Manual, they provide instuctions for the parking bulbs. On the front you have to remove a plastic snap holding the plastic wheel well cover (with a flat blade screw driver). Next, pull down the wheel well cover and you will expose the two bulbs. You twist/turn the bulb holder to remove.
If you stand facing the engine with the hood open. The alternator is located on the left side of the engine. It will be difficult to see from the top. But can be seen if you remove the plastic cover on the right front wheel well, or if you were to remove the plastic panel underneath the car.
