according to the manual you have to remove the front grill and plastic lamp cover then unbolt the lamp housing to remove it then replace the bulbs - unfortunately it is very vague as to the exact procedure for removing the front grill.
I dont think you actually have to remove the headlight assembly, you open the hood and get to the bulb through the back side of the headlight.
The headlamp bulb is removed from the rear of the headlight assembly. You have to remove the front bumber fascia to remove the headlamp assembly on this model. There is a plug that needs to be removed (twist one way, then pull) and the bulb should come out with it. Installation is reverse of removal. see the link below for more on removing te bumper to access the headlight.
Loosen the screws of the lower grill and headlamp assembly so that it can be removed from the fenders. Remove the upper grill fasteners and remove the grill. Take off the headlight housing. Remove the headlamp motor and housing. Take out the headlight. Now the fender can be unbolted and removed.
There are 2 hex shaped rods protruding from the top of the headlamp assembly. You can see these above the headlight after you open the hood. Just use a small socket (5/16" I believe) and unscrew these 2 rods and the headlight assembly can be removed . . . (it drops out of the front) . . . thereby exposing the headlight bulbs.
Hi,The headlamp bulb is relatively easy to replace in these vans. What you have to do is remove the turn signal assembly first, and then the headlamp assembly. This is done by removing 3 wing nuts that hold the assemblies in, and then pulling the turn signal assembly straight out, followed by the headlamp assembly. The headlamp assembly has to be lifted UP and then Out.Once you have the assembly out, the headlight bulb can be unscrewed from the back of the assembly and replaced. Be careful not to get any oil from your fingers on the new bulb, as that will heat up when the light is on and decrease the lifetime of the bulb.I have included a link below that shows pictures of the assemblies and how to removed them.Take Care, Greg
Each of the headlight assemblies are braced through the radiator support with a pair of retainers. The retainers for the right headlight assembly are in front of the battery. The retainers for the left assembly are in front of the washer fluid reservoir. Remove the retainers by pulling up on the retainer. With the retainers removed, the headlamp assembly falls forward. Reinstall the retainers to the square tabs on the headlamp assembly and the rivet on the radiator support
1. Open the hood. 2. Remove the front air deflector. 3. Apply light pressure to the headlamp lens to hold the headlamp assembly in place while disconnecting the retainers. 4. Lift up the headlamp assembly retainers to release. Important: Note the location and position of the headlamp adjuster retainers and the locator tab. 5. Remove the headlamp assembly, pulling straight forward from the headlamp mounting panel. 6. Disconnect the wiring harness from the headlamp assembly. 7. Rotate the headlamp bulb/socket counterclockwise to release. 8. Remove the headlamp bulb/socket from the headlamp assembly, if required. There are (2) pull up clip retainers that hold the headlamp assembly in place...Both of these must be removed for the headlamp assembly to be pulled forward...:)
There are 4 screws located under the rubber on the edges of the headlight. These have to be removed in order to get the headlight out.
The headlight assembly on a 95 Olds Cutlass Ciera is removed by disconnecting the wiring harness and removing the bulb. The assembly can then be unbolted and removed from the vehicle.
There are two 10 mm bolts that are on top of the headlamp assembly. Remove those bolts. Then gently pull the assembly out of the frame of the vehicle. Remove the wire harness, and the lamp assembly. Then there are two plastic threaded 10 mm bolts that need to be removed..a deep well socket will be needed for this, as well as a 10 mm nut. It can be removed with the same socket. Then the headlamp will be separated from the "turning light". To install, just do the opposite.
you have to remove the whole headlamp assembly to get to the turn signal bulb pull the headlight assembly straight out it is fairly easy There are two wing nuts on top of the unit that must be removed.
Raise the hood. Looking down onto the headlight area you will see two silver bolts (approx 10mm) holding the headlight assembly to the upper fascia support (approx 8 to 10 inches apart). Remove the two bolts holding the entire light assembly in (side marker, headlight and turn signal) located on the upper fascia support. Once these bolts are removed the entire assembly will shift to the right for the drivers side (when facing the vehicle) or to the left for the passenger side (when facing the vehicle). Once the assembly is removed you will have access to the wires/bulb. Position the headlamp assembly away from the vehicle body to access the electrical connector. Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp assembly. Remove the headlamp assembly from the vehicle. Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp bulb/socket. Remove the headlamp bulb/socket retainer ring from the headlamp, by turning counterclockwise. Remove the headlamp bulb/socket from the headlamp assembly. To ressemble simply do the reverse. These instructions sound complicated but the procedure is not that difficult. If your bulb burned out due to humidity or water in the lens, then this problem must be remedied (Headlamp replaced $65 Ebay -new part)or the new bulb will be short lived. Per a manual: Remove screws holding the headlamp assembly, pull the headlamp assembly, disconnect the parking lamp socket from the assembly, replace the bulb, and reverse the above steps. User comments: The battery must be removed first as it is in the way on at least one side, and as the headlight bezel is held by two screws at its top, under the hood. Removing them does not allow the headlight assembly to come out, they just loosen the bezel a bit at the top.
