To remove the manual window handle from a 1989 Mazda 626, you typically need to locate a small retaining clip or screw that holds the handle in place. Look for a small slot or hole at the base of the handle; if there's a clip, use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry it off. If it's a screw, remove it with the appropriate screwdriver. Once the clip or screw is removed, you should be able to slide the handle off the window shaft.

Otherwise, remove the two screws (handle and pocket) and unplug the panel starting from the bottom. The problem is not removing the side panel, the problem is replacing the handle itself.
