first loosen the axle bolt, I marked the location of the cotter pin on the housing where the cv joint goes into the transaxle. I removed the brake assemble and support it with a wire. I removed the two bolts which hold the spring and strut, no worry its not under any pressure and it is breeze to put back. Now remove the cotter pin which holds the other end of the cv joint on. Remove the axle bolt, don't reuse it the new one comes with one. Make sure when taking this out that all debris is removed especially by the tire side around the wheel bearing. you don't want any debris getting in there. I used a puller to push the cv joint out from around the wheel bearing. Now reverse the procedure to put it back. When putting you brake assemlbe back I use a big c clamp to compress the brake piston back, BUT TAKE THE FILL CAP OFF THE BRAKE CYLINDER SO YOU DON"T BRAKE ANYTHING. Put it back on when assemble is complete. Putting the Cv joint back is more trouble then taking it off

how do you replace the drivers side drive shaft and cv joint?
There's three bolts holding it on to your control arm. Take those bolts off, and put your new ball joint on.
Yes, it will and generally it is the inboard cv joint.
It is fairly simple, easier on a manual transmission. If you search for subaru forums, a lot of them have do it yourself write ups, with pictures even!
Usually the entire axle is replaced rather than trying to repair the CV joint.
Watch this video on how to replace a u-joint to see if it helps. http://www.myjeepwrangler.com/ Fix-it > u-joint
No. Subaru makes Subaru. The two companies did do a joint project. Toyota makes Lexus and scion.
A chevy 3500 truck is not front wheel drive, so it does not have CV joints.
don't replace the joint. replace the axle
The bar is called the sway bar take it of and replace it.
check driveline, my universal joint went bad and did same, replace and was fine(1990 loyale)
The 2000 Ram had u joints, not cv joints at the front axle.
