I'll tell you, I am doing one right now and, trust me, you don't want to even start this! The oil pump is connected to the front crank seal housing so you must remove the oil pan to get the front housing off. If you have a four wheel drive wagon like mine, don't even bother because it is a 16 hour job. And there are no guarantees that you will be able even to disconnect motor mounts, disconnect support brackets for trans axle jack up motor without damaging exhaust, and then have the clearance to get to the oil pan bolts to remove the oil pan in order to access/remove front seal housing. It's a big pain and I had no idea what I was getting myself into and I've been a mechanic of 15 years.

To replace the thermostat in a Toyota Tercel, first ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Drain the coolant by removing the lower radiator hose or drain plug. Remove the thermostat housing, which is typically held by bolts, and take out the old thermostat. Install the new thermostat, ensuring the correct orientation, replace the gasket or seal, reattach the housing, and refill the cooling system with coolant before reconnecting the battery.

No you can not. It is a solid round seal that slides over the back of the crankshaft where the fly-wheel bolts up to the crankshaft.
To replace the front crankshaft seal on a 1999 Mercury Cougar V6, first disconnect the battery and remove the necessary components, such as the serpentine belt, crankshaft pulley, and timing cover. Once you have access to the crankshaft, carefully pry out the old seal using a seal puller or screwdriver. Clean the sealing surface, lubricate the new seal with oil, and gently tap it into place. Finally, reassemble the components in reverse order, ensuring everything is properly torqued.

To replace a crankshaft seal on an Infiniti G20, first, disconnect the battery and remove any components obstructing access to the crankshaft pulley. Then, remove the crankshaft pulley, and gently pry out the old seal using a seal puller. Install the new seal carefully, ensuring it's seated properly, and reassemble all components. The cost for the seal itself typically ranges from $10 to $30, but including labor, the total replacement cost can be between $150 and $300, depending on your location and the shop's rates.
To change the harmonic balancer seal on a Toyota truck, first, disconnect the battery and remove any components obstructing access to the harmonic balancer, such as the serpentine belt and crankshaft pulley. Use a puller to carefully remove the harmonic balancer from the crankshaft. Replace the old seal with a new one, ensuring it's seated properly, then reassemble by reversing the removal process, tightening bolts to the manufacturer's specifications. Finally, reconnect the battery and check for leaks.
