Some say the odometer on the Honda Odyssey does not have a bulb and that if the odometer light fails, you have to replace the entire circuit board for the odometer, which costs about $350 from the dealer. That is incorrect. There is a separate backlight for the Odometer - it runs ~$5 but requires ~$100 in labor (1 hr install time) (12/30/08).
7/09 : I changed one in a 2000 Odyssey. I first took off both the left (by power door switches) and right (A/C) panels - these pull/pryl off. Then I took off the long dash unit (9 screws or so). Then I took out the speedmeter assembly (4 screws). and replaced the small black bulb ( $6 at the Honda dealer). The whole job took ~1 hour - was not that hard! You should replace the black bulb in the A/C panel as well while your at it (these twist 1/2 turn)!
