The K20A engine typically requires about 4.5 to 5 quarts (approximately 4.3 to 4.7 liters) of oil when including the oil filter change. It's essential to consult the owner's manual for your specific vehicle model for precise specifications and recommendations. Always use the recommended oil type and viscosity for optimal performance.
The K20A and K20A2 are both variants of Honda's K-series engine, but they differ primarily in performance and specifications. The K20A, found in the JDM Honda Integra Type R, produces around 220 horsepower and features a higher compression ratio, aggressive camshaft profile, and lighter components. In contrast, the K20A2, used in the US-spec Acura RSX Type S, delivers about 200 horsepower and has a slightly lower compression ratio and different tuning. These differences result in the K20A being more performance-oriented compared to the K20A2.
Yes, the golf gti 2.0 T-FSI is faster than a Civic 2.0 K20A i VTEC.
yes. on the k20a2 u have 4 options. the a2 tranny the z1 tranny the type r k20a and the civic si k20z3
Pretty much any engine can be equipped with a turbo, but if it's fairly average car that's also available in a turbo version the sensibe thing is to get one with the turbo already installed. It's not only a turbo you need, but quite a lot of other bits as well, getting it all together can be real pricey.
yes but you will need new mounts. fabricate a new passenger side mount new hood intake manifold will not clear stock hood.. no drive by wire system also, you will need a k20a throttle body and computer other things
The most common reasons for an engine failing is oil starvation. When there is not enough lubrication for the connecting rods the bearings can slip and cause the bottom end to erupt.
the G series is a hybrid using an F series block with an H series Vtec Head. There is an article on it in Honda Tuning magazine. Its puts out a little bit more power and torque than a K20A motor and its cheaper to do the swap. The only problem with that is you must know what you are doing.
Negative. The motor mounts are for a 2.2L engine only, so a K20A will not be a direct drop-in. If you are interested in doing motor swaps on a 1991 Accord, the best choice is an H22A, which comes from a 2000 Honda Prelude Type SH, but rewiring from OBDI to OBDII is a major pain. Check out www.cb7tuner.com for information on performance modification for the 4th generation Accords, which are 1990 to 1993.
yes it can. You are actually able to fit the following motors in 91 accord: f22a1, f22a2, f22b2, h22a1, h23a1, and with some work the k24a... Keep in mind you need the matching transmission for the corresponding motor. in reality you can really get any Honda motor any Honda as long as the displacement is close.. A crazy motor swap would be a k20a or k20z.. there would be some work, required, but this isn't bad for 200hp...
Yes with customization, by factory no. Except for cosmetics there is no real reason to run dual exhaust on such a small motor. In my opion' Yes I agree, save your money for a better motor or a turbo. Don't waste money on a 1.5 liter dual exaust, save it for a motor swap. Many Honda engines fit quite nicely in a del sol. b18c1 , b18c5, b16a and even the K20a fits in nicely , even with AC and power steering.
