I had an external antifreeze leak, and I tried a product called steelseal and it worked as advertised, just took off radiator hose and added the product as per instructions still no leak, i think it messed with my thermostat though.
I recently paid $401 to have the timing belt changed along with replacing the water pump with a rebuilt unit on our 2001 Leganza. I had three estimates. One shop wanted to flush the radiator at the same time putting the cost at $540. Another shop quoted me around $400 also. The parts should be easy to find since Daewoos need to have their timing belts changed alot earlier than Japanese and American cars. Most of the mechanics I asked said the belt should be relaced between 65000 and 85000 miles.
The inside cover seal on your Valve cover gasket needs replacing. It's an easy fix. Just be sure to mop up the oil around the spark plugs. It's a good time to change your plugs also.
You have 6x9's in the rear, and 5 1/4 in the fronts, or you can put 6 1/2's in if you have the right mounting brackets. Plus there are the 1" twets in the dash. Be easy on the rear speaker grills, they tend to crack very easy.
No I have just removed the head off a 2003 Avensis Verso D4D, not easy but possible.
It is not an easy repair for the novice and somewhat expensive if you have it done. Basically the top of the motor has to be removed. The dis-assembly and re-assembly are where the time is involved. Replacing the actual gasket is easy. Figure about 1000 to be safe
The Starter is not easy to change. First thing " Disconnect the battery". The starter is under the intake manifold and bolts into the transmission. You need to remove the intake and all related hoses and plastic parts as well as the hard plastic cooling pipe that basically sits above the starter. There are 2 bolts that hold it in and one is easy to get at and the other is a bit more difficult.
No.
as long as you have got a half tidy set of tools its easy, i done one 3 days ago in aprox 4 hours , if its being removed for head gasket problems get it pressure tested and skimmed as these heads are prone to cracking and warping easy, i have uploaded the timing diagram to the following address http://www.savefile.com/files/1572016
I hope this answer doesn't come too late, but this is a common fault on the Leganza. You need to replace the earth connection to the unit. It's quite easy to do, and doesn't need any specialist tools or knowledge. Remove the trim around the unit, unscrew it, and pull out. You need to identify the earth (thick black wire usually), and connect it to a good metal connection elsewhere. I ran mine to the negative pole of the cigarette lighter, and it's worked perfectly since. HTH.

it isn't easy it isn't easy
It has to be done by a Daewoo service center because the Scan Tool 100 is necessary. It is like a regular automotive scan tool, but dedicated for Daewoo vehicles. First the tool is attached to the ODB II connector in the car, then it is set to "program mode" and any of the buttons on the remote is pressed so that the computer in the car registers the code. This is done for each remote, one at a time. I think that the computer on the vehicle can register 4 or 5 different remotes. Turn key on in ignition for five seconds turn off and press lock on key until it resets so easy
