I had a similar problem. My latch on my 20004 endeavor would not stay shut and as I drove along, it would keep popping open. Turned out the sensors just needed to be adjusted. Take it to the dealer, takes five minutes.
To open the hood of a Lincoln Aviator from the outside, first locate the hood release lever inside the vehicle, usually found on the driver's side near the footwell. Pull this lever to release the hood latch. Then, move to the front of the vehicle, slide your hand under the center of the hood, and find the secondary latch. Lift the latch to fully open the hood.
To fix the passenger door latch on a 2002 Acura MDX that opens from the inside but not the outside, first, remove the door panel to access the latch mechanism. Inspect the latch for any broken components, misalignments, or debris that could be obstructing it. Lubricate the latch with a silicone spray and adjust the linkage if needed. If the latch is damaged, replace it with a new one and reassemble the door panel.

To fix the inside trunk release latch on a 1996 Saturn SL2, first, check the cable connecting the release lever to the latch for any breaks or disconnections. If the cable is intact, inspect the latch mechanism itself for any debris or rust, and clean or lubricate it as needed. If the latch is damaged, it may need to be replaced; you can remove the interior panel to access and replace the latch. Reassemble everything and test the release to ensure it functions properly.
Depends on the car. Some you can reach up behind the bumper and trip the release. If the cable is broken inside, you may be able to reach it as it comes from the latch and pull on the housing enough to release it. Some you can go through the grill and remove the bolts holding the latch to the radiator support.

How do you open the hood latch from the outside on a subaru impreza
You have to pull the inside door panel off. Once removed, look for the door latch mechanism and pry it with a screwdriver. This will release the door.
If you remove the grill from the front of the truck you can then access the safety latch and hood release. My latch had rusted so I had to do this using a flat head screw driver and lifting the safety latch which allowed for the hood release to open.
The latch itself is held on with bolts, easy enough to change. The release cable has to be fed down the inside of the rocker panel and into the trunk.
I have dealt with this problem before at our bodyshop. Basically, a spring inside the latch has broke, and now there is no way to release the latch, even by manually pulling on the release lever at the latch. Prepare to replace the latch, as it is not repairable. Be prepared to be working inside the car. To make it easier to work, unbolt the seat, and remove from the car. Remove the door panel, and also the door handle. You will have to chisel at the plastic part of the latch, and break it off bit by bit. Eventually you will be able to release the latch. good luck
It should open from the inside. Then the switch is usually in the latch for the door. HTH
