HOW DO YOU CHANGE A ALTERNATOR FO SUZUKI 2000 ESTEEM
1 To change the belt you need to stand on the passenger side of the vehicle
A. Take the air filter box out. and its rubber tubing
B. Take loose the Power Steering fluid reservoir and tuck it out of the way on top of the engine. No need to disconnect hoses
Get under the car and remove the plastic guard on the passenger side of the car this isn't a necessary step but is worth it to make putting the belts on the lower pulleys easier.
C. Look down between engine and fender wall there are two pulleys that are smooth put a wrench on the one closest to the fire wall, pull towards the front of the car. The wrench should have allot of spring tension on it. A long wrench is recommended
This should loosen up the belt tension enough to get the belt off and a new one on. It requires some work but it will come off.
To change the alternator takes a bit more work.
Do the above and remove the belt
Jack up the car and secure it
craw under the front remove plastic guard
remove the front passenger side tire.
Take off the protective cover off the alternator one bolt on top and one bolt through the wheel well
reach through the wheel well and take the 2 bolts out of the side of the alternator bracket then the one on the bottom of the bracket and remove the bracket.
the other bolt on top of the alternator will not come out of the bracket due to the power steering pump pulley being in the way so you must have that bottom bracket off so that the alternator will move off the bolt leaving the bolt in place in the bracket.
It is now free to remove from the car. If you have air it is difficult to get out but it will come out past the a/c line but it is a very tight squeeze.
Hope this helped good luck.
Tips there are 3 clamps you should loose up 2 on the pwr steering hoses and the one on the a/c line
I removed the 3 bolts on the pwr steering pump and moved it out of the way to get access to the upper Alt bolt
Also remember to use Loctight on all your mounting bolts
