Sorry Don't have the answer but friend complains of the same thing happening to his golf! I thought he was just imagining it. Any update on cause? I had the same problem on my jetta and i replace the ignition switch the mechanical part and the electrical finally the probem is gone!! the cost was around 80 dollars....
you have an engine/ignition problem. HAve a garage read the codes and diagnose the problem soon.
You need to find out what's happening to the fuel pressure when you have problems. What's happening to the ignition timing? If it's an EFI engine, what is the computer trying to tell you. Isolate the problem by testing the different components to see what's going wrong.
You could have a problem will the battery or something with the ignition. Try leaving the vehicle off for a bit and trying again later.
its either the starter or your ignition
Physically has a turning problem ? Try your spare key and still has the problem? Replace the ignition switch.
It sounds like the security alarm is stuck. While this is happening take the key out of the ignition and shut the drivers door, then lock and unlock it with the key. If the problem stops even for a minute then the alarm is the problem.

ignition problem
I own a 1993 Integra and had this very problem for years. Canadian Tire who was my mechanic shop for years were unable to diagnose the problem and finally when I switched mechanic it was solved. The problem was electrical in nature and had to do with faulty wiring to the leading from the ignition to the gas tank.
