Yes. Nissan Infiniti and Datsun are the same company.
I had the same problem in our fleet vehicles and was informed that it was from mixing regular MTBE gasoline with ethanol gasoline, brown film formed on the pickup sock of the fuel pump in the tank .
Z22 little motor, same one that 620 trucks have. Ur better of getting a datsun 1984 or 85 truck, same style truck but better bigger motor.
I have the same problem, Audi have told me to check sender unit in fuel tank, if this doesn't show up anything then they will put it on their fault reader which could point to to a faulty fuel gauge pod. have you solved your fuel gauge problem yet ?
Datsun was established in 1914 and was the first mass-produced Japanese motor vehicle. Nissan Motors was founded in 1933. The two companies merged in 1960. Both labels continued to be manufactured until 1982, which was the last year that "Datsun" appeared on the "Sentra" model. The story is a bit complicated, but Datsun and Nissan merged, with datsun becoming a brand of Nissan (much like lexus is a brand of toyota).
