What is the Transmission Fluid capacity on a 2001 Subaru forester?
Listed in your owner's manual.
owners manual will tell you
It depends on if you have a manual or an automatic transmission. aut is 3and a half quarts of subaru automatic transmission fluid, a manual is about a gallon of 80W-90 gear lube
A 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX with an automatic transmission typically requires about 9 quarts of transmission fluid for a complete fluid change. However, this amount can vary slightly depending on whether you're just draining and refilling or performing a full flush. Always consult the owner's manual or a service guide for the most accurate information.
To change the transmission fluid in a 2012 Subaru Impreza AWD with an automatic transmission, first ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and warm the engine slightly. Remove the transmission pan bolts and carefully lower the pan to drain the old fluid, then replace the filter if applicable. Reinstall the pan with a new gasket, refill the transmission through the dipstick tube using the recommended fluid, and check the level with the engine running. Finally, ensure there are no leaks and dispose of the old fluid properly.
The transmission fluid capacity for a 2000 Subaru Outback is approximately 9.6 quarts (or about 9 liters) when performing a complete fluid change, including the torque converter. If you are only draining and refilling the transmission pan, the capacity is around 4.5 quarts (or about 4.3 liters). Always consult the owner's manual for the most accurate information specific to your vehicle's configuration.
On a 1997 Subaru Impreza, the trans-axle dipstick is typically located near the back of the engine bay, close to the firewall. It is usually positioned on the driver's side, near the transmission. Look for a yellow or orange handle that indicates the dipstick for checking the transmission fluid level. Always ensure the vehicle is on level ground when checking the fluid.
I am assuming you have an automatic transmission, because the manual transaxle does not have a filter. It is located under the transmission pan and should cost about $40 plus a new gasket and labor if you have someone do it for you.
40wt transmission fluid 40wt transmission fluid
For the automatic transmission: 8.4 US QuartsFor the manual transmission: FWD holds 3.5 US Quarts, AWD holds 4.2 US QuartsDon't forget about your front differential fluid, which is separate from the gearbox: 1.3 US QuartsAll fluid type is GL-5
On the passenger side of the engine, down almost to the firewall on the side of the transmission. it is a small yellow pull dipstick. also it is mostly covered by various vacuum lines and such
Unfortunatly I dont know the amount but I know you shouldnt put oil in your "auto transmission" you should be useing transmision fluid.
