First check all fuses and/or relays. Then it could be your switch for your lights on the column,it was for mine-corrosion.
It is not wise to connect a backinglarm, because it is so easy to damage wires wich are very thin. You can buy an bulb with backing larm in it, and just put in instead of the existing bulb.
they could have burned out, or the wires are bad. I recommend getting it checked by a mechanic ;)

Its your dimmer wheel. Smack it a few times and the instrument panel will light back up. To fix it permanently, remove the switch and either replace it or solder the contacts back in place.
The stock ones are junk,they have two wires,instead of the American style flat band,that really dig into the hose. Just replace them with the regular hose clamps from the auto store.
