first be sure it's the check engine light not the oil light big difference between the two. if it is the check engine light and the car was ran with the gas cap off it detected a evaporative emissions leak from the gas recirculation circut if you put the gas cap on and drive for approx one week the light may reset it self

Have the alignment checked. I suppose hard acceleration could cause torque steer. I have never experienced that in my 04.

It is designed to use 87 octane regular. Using a higher octane fuel is a waste of money and will provide no benefits whatsoever. No more power and no better mileage. In fact it may cause hard starts in cold climates. Use Regular.
