I can tell you Mazda did the USA version of fuel injection in some 1988 models and it really varied.I know of alot of 89,90 models that are still carburated.So while the states do differ on this with Canada I think it varied based on production and some were some were not.So the short 1988 was the initial year it was offerred in the USA however with Canada and other locations it probably was the same or different.The best I can do since I have owned my 87 b2200 since NEW and still own to this day 23 years later.
