To fill the transmission oil on a Mazda MX-6, locate the transmission dipstick or fill plug, which is typically found on the transmission case. If it has a dipstick, remove it, and use a funnel to add the appropriate type of Transmission Fluid through the dipstick tube. If it has a fill plug, you may need to use a pump to inject the fluid through the plug hole. Always ensure the vehicle is level and check the fluid level according to the manufacturer's specifications.

To change the transmission oil in a 2001 Mazda Miata manual transmission, start by lifting the vehicle and securing it on jack stands. Remove the fill plug on the side of the transmission and the drain plug at the bottom, allowing the old oil to fully drain out. Replace the drain plug and refill the transmission with new oil through the fill hole until it starts to overflow. Finally, replace the fill plug and ensure everything is securely tightened before lowering the vehicle.

the engine oil dipstick is located at the rear of the engine. transmission has a drain plug on it. you can drain the oil from that, then put the bolt back in and undo the fill plug and fill it. 80w90 gear oil or 75w90 gear oil are recommended
