To add freon to a Kia Optima, locate the low-pressure service port on the air conditioning system. This port is typically found on the larger diameter aluminum line, which runs between the compressor and the evaporator. The port is usually covered by a plastic cap, often labeled with an "L" for low pressure. Make sure the engine is off before connecting the refrigerant canister to avoid any accidents.
The exact amount of Freon that needs to be added to a Kia Optima is unknown. This is because if Freon is needed there may be a leak and the car will need to be taken to a mechanic.
R134a
buy new ones and put those in instead
The fuel pump on a 2005 Kia Optima is removed by the fuel tank, disconnecting the fuel lines, and pulling the wiring harness. The pump can then be unscrewed from the tank, lifted out, and a new pump put in place.
you put it in the same tube where you check the fluid. you will need a small funnel to pour it in.
Compressor lubricant is mixed in with the freon and will enter the system when it is recharged
get it out from the plug under neat and add it on the same place where you check the transmission oil (where the stick is)
Put air in tires make sure air pressure is equal in all tires
Depends how good you take care of it.....modern vehicles have surpassed 200k miles....But it all depends on how you drive them.....if you keep up on your maintenance, they should last a long time. The Kia Optima is great. Not as small as the Rio ;) But it has more features than the Spectra. Their "sportier" performance line ;)Just waiting for a Kia 2-door coupe :)
Go to Autozone.com and put in year, make and model of car. Look for Error codes link and then for the code you received.
The fuel tank vent or the filler tube is blocked.
Your car uses refrigerant not Freon. Freon is a brand name put out by DuPont. All ac systems use refrigerant often mistakenly called Freon. All of them!!! Check for a decal under the hood or on the compressor for the information you seek. I believe that around 1996 car makers started using R-134A instead of R-12 refrigerant. Hope this helps.
