Depends how good you take care of it.....modern vehicles have surpassed 200k miles....
But it all depends on how you drive them.....if you keep up on your maintenance, they should last a long time.
The Kia Optima is great. Not as small as the Rio ;) But it has more features than the Spectra. Their "sportier" performance line ;)

you put it in the same tube where you check the fluid. you will need a small funnel to pour it in.
get it out from the plug under neat and add it on the same place where you check the transmission oil (where the stick is)

if it is anything like my 2002 Kia Optima V6. I had to remove the axle shaft remove the upper motor mount and then put a jack under the engine and raise it about an inch. this gave me enough room to remove the alternater. If you are not handy working on cars I suggest you find a good kia repair facility and let them do it. Because you have to tear the whole suspension apart. Good Luck
