The transmission has nothing to do with your timing belt. If your vehicle is equipped with a 2.5l it has a timing belt. If you have a 3.0l it has timing chains. Cheers!
These are cigar lighter sockets. You should be able to get them from your Subaru dealer, but I replaced the one in the console of my Outback with a socket from the auto parts store.
I just purchased new catalytic converters for my 1999 Subaru Legacy Outback. There are three ports for oxygen sensors. They appear to be on the top of the converters. Most cars with a rubber timing belt and not a timing chain should be replaced between 80-100k miles. I believe the impreza has an interference engine which means if the timing belt breaks while driving you will have a much more expensive repair, as the valves may need replacing as well. If you have no proof that the timing belt was done by a previous owner you should have it done as well.
