The transmission control module (TCM) on a 2005 Kia Spectra is typically located under the dashboard on the driver's side, near the steering column. It may be mounted on or near the transmission or integrated into the vehicle's main engine control unit (ECU) depending on the specific configuration. Accessing it usually requires removing some panels for easier visibility and reach. Always refer to the vehicle's service manual for precise location and removal instructions.

It is behind the glove box
It is located inside the tranny itself. Most failures result from transmission fluid contamination of the module. They can be rebuilt by several companies (1 week) so a new one is not required. Changing requires breaking open the transmission. I would not go to the dealer on this as they may recommend a new tranny. Not necessary
