rev counter not working
If the rev counter and speedometer on an Audi stop working after refueling, it could indicate a problem with the vehicle's electrical system or sensors. A common issue might be a faulty instrument cluster, a blown fuse, or a malfunctioning vehicle speed sensor. Additionally, if the fuel tank was overfilled, it might have caused fuel to enter the evaporative emissions system, affecting sensor performance. It's advisable to have the vehicle checked by a professional to diagnose and resolve the issue.
If the speedometer, fuel gauge, and rev counter on your Peugeot 106 are not working, it's likely due to a faulty instrument cluster, a blown fuse, or a malfunctioning sensor. Check the relevant fuses in the fuse box and replace any that are blown. If the fuses are fine, the issue may lie with the vehicle's speed sensor or the wiring connections to the instrument cluster. Consulting a mechanic for a diagnostic check can help identify the exact cause.

There could be several reasons why the rev counter on your Frontera has stopped working. Common issues include a faulty connection or wiring, a malfunctioning engine control unit (ECU), or a broken tachometer itself. Additionally, a damaged signal from the ignition system or a problem with the crankshaft position sensor can also affect the rev counter's operation. It's best to check these components or consult a mechanic for a thorough diagnosis.
where is the rev counter sender unit in peugeot 206 how to get at it
was told there's a rev counter "unit" somewhere, Haine's manual has nothing, let us know if you sorted it? == Believe rev counter engine speed pickup is from the alternator. Had Rover 218TD with same engine, alternator went and rev counter stopped working. There were 3 wires to alternator, big thick red one, alternator light one and the rev counter feed. Hope this helps peter

On obd2 the rev limiter is in the ecm and works by dropping off cylinders to maintain rev limit.
