No, according to the publisher (Andrews McMeel), Mr. Larson is no longer licensing his cartoon for the calendars -- as per below quote. "Thank you for your email regarding our Far Side calendars. We always
appreciate feedback from readers! As you may know, Mr. Larson stopped creating Cartoons for newspapers in 1994, although he did continue to allow them to be used in his fantastically funny calendars. Sadly, Mr. Larson has decided to no longer license calendars featuring The Far Side cartoons, thus his 2008 calendars will be his last."
The Far Side Gallery was created in 1984-11.
The far side of the moon is lit by the sun just as much as the near side. The true reason for landing on the near side instead of the far side has to do with communications, as we did not have comm satellites orbiting the moon during the Apollo missions. The near side was just much more practical than the far side.
Photo surveys seem to indicate that the hidden "far side" of the Moon has a thicker crust and more mountains. We're not sure why the far side is so different from the visible near side, but it is.
The author of "The Man Who Went to the Far Side of the Moon" is Bea Uusma. It is a children's book that tells the story of the first human to explore the far side of the moon.
Scientists have been able to map the far side of the moon using spacecraft and satellite missions that have orbited around it. These missions have collected data and images that allow us to create detailed maps of the far side of the moon.

The Gary Larson "The Far Side" series is a very popular cartoon series. Calendars featuring The Far Side can be found for purchase on Amazon and Valore Books.
Sadly, no. Mr. Larson stopped creating cartoons for newspapers in 1994, but allowed them to be used in calendars. In 2008, he decided that would be the last year. So no more Far Side calendars. This is from the email response I got from www.andrewsmcmeel.com, his publisher.
The Far Side of the Glass - 2009 was released on: USA: 26 April 2009 (Houston WorldFest) USA: 26 April 2009 (WorldFest Houston)
No official Far Side calendars are planned for the 2009 or 2010 years. It is not known at this time when The Far Side calendars will make a comeback. Each year Gary Larson's company decides whether or not to publish the calendars and in which formats. Apparently, a member of staff from WHSmith said that the desktop calendar (week per page diary) was not delivered in time for the deadline before Christmas, which is why there were none in the shops. I got the impression this meant I may still be able to buy one later, as I was not told they were not being produced, just late. I'm still holding out hope!
The cast of The Far Side of the Glass - 2009 includes: Patti Crane as Mom Judd Rench as Diver
It appears to be No. I haven't seen one in any of the regular places and one seller informed me they hadn't seen it this year yet either. You'd think it'd be out by now if there was one.
The cast of The Far Side of Laughter - 2009 includes: Elizabeth Ann Koshak Jessica Erin Sylvia as The Mistress Sonya Mahgrefteh Razia Noorzay
I can't find one either. Have you had any luck finding one so far?Just did a search for the Far Side and found Gary's website at www.farside.comWhen you click there there is a link called "Other Farside Products" - the pop up window from that link advises that the calendars/diaries and other similar far side products are discontinued and no longer being made.
