When the moon blocks the sun's light, or the Earth blocks the light from the sun that strikes the moon, it's called an eclipse. For an arbitrary body passing in front of another one, the term astronomers usually use is "occultation".

Eclipse.

e.g: A solar eclipse is when Moon blocks the Sun.

Astronomically it is also known as an "occultation" or being hidden. The entire event itself is called an eclipse. The shadow cast by the heavenly body is called a penumbra.

that's a "lunar eclipse".

of the Earth, that's a "solar eclipse".

-- When anything else blocks our view of anything else ... like Venus

temporarily passing in front of a star, that's an "occultation".

Does light create a shadow in the vacuum of outer space like it does on the earth?

Shadows are caused by something BLOCKING the light. You can have shadows in space, if something is blocking the light. On Earth, shadows often look fuzzy; this is caused by the Sun's light being scattered in the air. In space, there is nothing to scatter the light, so shadows are sharp-edged and clear.

What is another phrase for natural light?

Daylighting is a term used to describe maximising natural light in a space.

What is an ecplise?

Why can a telescope see farther into space from space than one on Earth?

The Earth's atmosphere creates distortion and acts as a filter to prevent a perfectly clear view of space. Outside our atmosphere, there is nothing blocking the view. That and there is less light from cities and stuff to interfere with the telescope.

Why can astronauts not hear one another when traveling in space?

The light waves they reflect travel through empty space but sound waves do not.

By which process does starlight travel though space?

Describe how a light ray travels as it moves through empty space?

when light rays mave from one medium to another such as from air to water

Pls tell you if you can see day and night in the space you mean is it full of dark or full of light?

Is it true that when light passes from air to glass the light may change direction due to reflection?

It is true that light will change direction when going from one medium to another (such as going through space to going through air. Further, different wavelengths of light (different colors) will change at different angles; this is why a prism works and why the sky is blue. However, this process is called refraction, not reflection.

How does food and oxygen travel around around your body?

A shadow is an area where direct light from a light source cannot reach due to obstruction by an object. It occupies all of the space behind an opaque object with light in front of it. The cross section of a shadow is a two-dimensional silhouette, or reverse projection of the object blocking the light.
