Apollo 17 took place in December 1972. It was the final mission of NASA's Apollo program and remains the most recent manned Moon landing.
Apollo 13 took off in rthe year 1970.
Apollo 11 was launched in 1969.
Apollo 13 was not invented; it was a NASA mission that took place in 1970. Apollo 13 was the seventh crewed mission in the Apollo space program and was intended to land on the Moon, but an oxygen tank explosion forced the mission to be aborted.
There were 6 Apollo missions that landed on the Moon; the final one was Apollo 17, which took place in December 1972. The two astronauts who landed were Commander Gene Cernan and Lunar Module Pilot Harrison Schmitt, who became the first geologist on the Moon. At the moment, it is expected that the next people to reach the Moon may do so around the year 2020. In 1973, 3 missions were launched to the Skylab space station. Although they used Apollo spacecraft, they were named Skylab missions. In July 1975, the first international manned space mission took place. Named the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project, Aleksei Leonov - the first person to "walk" in space - and Valery Kubasov were launched in a Soyuz spacecraft from Baikonour, and then a few hours later, the Apollo crew were launched from Kennedy Space Center. The Apollo crew comprised Tom Stafford, Deke Slayton and Vance Brand. Although not given a number, this was the last Apollo mission. With the Space Shuttle coming into service from 1981, this was the last US spaceflight for over 5-1/2 years, and the final splashdown.

Michael Jackson did the moonwalk in 1983 on the Video for Billie Jean But this was not the first appearance of the dance. A famous mime named Marcel Marceau did this move dating back to the early 40's.But the artist that brought this dance "Then known as the backslide" to the public eye was Jeffery Daniels of the singing group Shalamar. It was a move known by many break dancers which was a dance style spreading like crazy.MJ got a hold of it and it was renamed the moonwalk and the rest is history.Veedub3
The Apollo program was originally meant to run up to Apollo 40, by which time there would be a permanent base on the Moon. However this was changed early on and the missions cut back to Apollo 21. The final mission was subsequently cancelled. Apollo 20 was then cancelled in January 1970 and Apollo's 18 and 19 were cancelled in September the same year.

During the Apollo programme, Apollo 8 was the first to fly to the Moon, though it was not intended to land; it didn't even have a Lunar Module. Apollo 9 tested the Lunar Module in orbit around the Earth, and Apollo 10 was a "dress rehearsal" for the landing, descending to within 10 miles of the surface. Apollo 11 carried out the first landing, and it was followed by 6 other missions, thought Apollo 13 did not land due to an on-board explosion whilst on the way to the Moon. In all, 6 Apollo missions landed; Apollos 11, 12, 14, 15, 16 and 17. The final landing took place in December 1972. At the moment, it is expected that the next people to reach the Moon may do so around the year 2020.
The lunar landing missions lasted from 1969 to 1972, however the Apollo prgram itself had started as far back as 1960, with the first Saturn rocket tests occuring in October, 1961.
