Most of the time it is just: remove the connection to the O2 sensor, screw out the old O2 sensor, screw in the NEW O2 sensor, re-make connection to the O2 sensor. Note that some O2 sensors do not have plugs and you have to cut the wire and use crimp connectors to attach the new O2 sensor. If yours has a plug, you're in luck. Note that if the package includes a tube of silicone grease, make certain that you use it to protect the connections from corrosion. One of the hardest problems is taking out the old O^2 sensor. They have been in so long that they sometimes become seized in the port. You might have to resort to penetrating oil, heating torch, or a long bar & muscle to get the sensor out. The new sensor should have a little anti-seize on the threads to prevent getting stuck in the port.
carefuly?
Put gas in it.
First you need to find which one is bad. After you find out which one is bad you remove the 02 sensor from the exhaust pipe with an 02 sensor socket. Then you disconnect the sesor from the electrical connector. After that you can install the new one. Be carefull it's not the easist job to do in the drive way.
The "ABS" light is telling you that you have a problem with your antilock brake system. The 02 sensors monitor your engine's performance and emissions. these are two completely different systems. I suggest you look for a new mechanic.
From Underneath the vehicle locate the sensor and using an open end box wrench lossen and remove the o2 sensor follow the wire up into the engine compartment dissconnect from the connection, plug in the new 02 sensor and carefully fish it through so that you can install it as the old one was removed
Unplug suspected sensor from the harness, cut wires off at the sensor, slip a 7/8" box wrench over the sensor and remove by turning counterclockwise. Install new one with a open end 7/8" wrench, snug it down as you would a spark plug, reconnect plug to harness.
where is the secondary 02 sensor on a 2004 crv
Depending on the year of the Monte Carlo the 02 sensor could be installed in several places on the exhaust. The 02 sensor screws in. You may need a special socket to remove it, just unscrew the sensor and screw the new one in.
Sounds like you need a new 02 sensor.
Try a new knock sensor, or check the distributor
To change the oxygen (O2) sensor on a 2003 Honda Element, you first need to locate the sensor, which is typically located on the exhaust system. Next, disconnect the electrical connector and use an O2 sensor socket or wrench to remove the sensor. Before installing the new sensor, apply anti-seize compound to the threads to prevent seizing in the future. Finally, install the new sensor, reconnect the electrical connector, and clear any error codes using an OBD-II scanner if needed.
exaust leaks , faster if its before the 02 sensor
