Most authors do not publicise their home addresses. This is for various reasons: some popular authors would be overwhelmed by the volume of mail that they receive; some worry, rightly, that they would receive unannounced visits from readers at inconvenient times, some worry that they could be stalked, some are concerned that burglars would pay them in visit. Everybody has the right to a private life and there is no obligation to tell people where you live.

That said, if you wish to write to an author there are two common ways that you could do this. If you look at a recent book that they have written, it will have the publisher's address, usually on one of the pages at the front of the book. You could write to the author c/o the publisher. The other way is if the author has a web site, it may give an email address where you can write in. You can often find the author's web site on the back cover or inside the book, or an internet search should tell you.
