The Chippewa, at least in Ontario, Canada, are often called Ojibwa. They are one of dozens of tribes in the eastern United States and Canada who speak primarilly the Algonquian language.

There is a large and very beautiful Chippewa reserve near Wiarton, Ontario, on the Bruce Peninsula, and known as the "Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation". Each summer an open powwow is held, to which all are invited, Indian or not. Lots of fun, dancing, music, crafts and food - worth the trip!
