The coil pack towers should be numbered ( at least they are on any other
Ford coil pack that I have seen )
coil-----3 - 4
pack----2 - 6
plug-----1 - 5
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Also , the spark plug firing order is ( 1 - 4 - 2 - 5 - 3 - 6 )
The engine cylinder locations are numbered :
firewall
1-----2-----3
4-----5-----6

In a 2000 Ford Taurus , the 3.0 liter " Duratec " DOHC - V6 has the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system . So there are ( 6 coil packs )
coil 1 goes to cyl 1 o 4 coil 2 goes to cyl 2 o 3 so the firing order is 1243
