for a little while, anywhere from a day or two to a few months. for a little while, anywhere from a day or two to a few months.
Very unlikely. It is most probably a blown head gasket or cracked block.
Exhause leak? Bad Muffler? Leaking or cracked exhaust manifold? Bad EGR valve?
if it's coming out the exhaust manifold it could be a blown head gasket or cracked head.
Do you see white smoke coming out of your exhaust , even when the engine is warmed up ? If so , it could be a bad head gasket , a warped head , or a cracked head
it could be that your catylitic converter is plugged up. disconect the exhaust system and see if it glows red. if it does connect it back. this could mean that your muffler is the problem. if not this then it could be that an exhaust valve is cracked. the same thing happend to my 1992 ford f150. it could be that your catylitic converter is plugged up. disconect the exhaust system and see if it glows red. if it does connect it back. this could mean that your muffler is the problem. if not this then it could be that an exhaust valve is cracked. the same thing happend to my 1992 ford f150.
Couple things. 1- worn valve seals letting oil in the combustion chamber. 2- worn piston rings -same result. You probably have a cracked head on the exhaust port.
Are you referring to a loud exhaust sound? If so, it could be (Going from the engine back to the tailpipe) a cracked or leaking exhaust manifold - a leaking exhaust pipe - a leaking catalytic converter - a leaking muffler. That covers the exhaust system. If you are talking about a noisy clattering sound in the engine, you could possibly need a valve adjustment.
It could.
A bad exhaust manifold gasket could do that.
You could lose power if the exhaust manifold gasket has blown on a turbo equipped car because the turbo will not receive sufficient pressure. The turbo will produce less boost as it is powered directly by the exhaust gases.
If you do replace it correctly, it will work as designed.
Loud exhaust noise from the front end is usually caused by one of several problems. The exhaust manifold gasket could be blown, the doughnut gasket could be bad, or there could be a crack in the exhaust itself.
